Tony Ward Spring Summer 2015 Collection
It is from many travels to New York that Tony Ward gathered the inspiration to create his Spring Summer 2015 ready to wear collection. From Manhattan's narrow streets and Art deco skyscrapers to the island's numerous bridges, shapes and figures slowly took form in the designer's creative mind. Translated into meticulously constructed garments that reflect the city's intertwining crossroads, both mentally and figuratively, the collection came to life.
Jacquard fabrics illustrate the hard concrete jungle. Rectangular cuts form an irregular borderline that defines many of the collection's silhouettes. We see high angle shots of the city interpreted into V shaped parallels, with zigzag and vertical patterns of thick bands. The delicately scattered shiny embroideries and Silk threads remind us of the famous city lights, whereas big faceted crystals form an exploded graphical view of the city.
