Brazilian Night

Brazilian Night is a cultural exchange night, in which Let’s talk language community was exposed to the Brazilian Culture. Let’s Talk language is a language exchange event organized and hosted by Myriam Saad at Altcity in Hamra street. It is done twice a month. How it works is that each person is paired up with someone, and they help each other practice the language that each of them would like to learn. For example, if I would like to learn Spanish, I am paired up with someone who is fluent in Spanish, in return for helping them practice their Arabic or English. Languages are usually limited to English, French, Arabic, German, Spanish, Chinese, and newly added Portuguese. It is a lovely educational, social, and cultural event that brings people together, and enables them to help each other with each person’s own capabilities.

A lovely evening of Brazilian jam session, Brazilian food, drinks, and sweets, was organized by Myriam Saad, in order to introduce the Portuguese language to the community, not only through the language itself but through the culture as a whole.  Live graffiti was also taking place, by FISH, in which he drew a capoeira character posing, to portray a traditional Brazilian martial arts. It was a lovely festive evening full joy, rhythm, and culture.
