Chiyah Sporting Club

Hundreds of Chiyah citizens and representatives from several political parties attended the dinner revived by 2 talented singers with beautiful voices, held at "Chez Mounir" Beit Meiry. The main dinner purpose was to support Chiyah Sporting Club, and President of Chiyah Municipality Mr Edmond Gharios gave his speech at the beginning of the evening, explaining the reasons why the Club was founded. One of the reasons why Chiyah Sporting Club was founded, was as Mr Gharios said, to "Unite youth and incite them to stay off the streets", so they would develop a life purpose that doesn't involve delinquent behavior. That way, they can focus on sports activities like Basketball or Football or any other activity where they can spend energy without hurting anyone or becoming Thugs.

Chiyah has gone through a lot during the war along with Ain El Remmaneh which makes it more symbolic to have a sporting/cultural club in that area and very soon, Chiyah Forum will also be counting the biggest Opera house in Beyrouth that can combine hundreds of spectators who can enjoy beautiful Operas played without microphones.
