As part of its ongoing mission in promoting diabetes prevention and management, DiaLeb in collaboration with Rotary- Club Aley West and Aabey municipality organized an event entitled "Diabetes: Prevention and Control" at Hall Cheikh Ahmad Amin Al Din on November 18, 2017. Mrs Zeina Ataya welcomed the attendees and presented the speakers. Dr. Jackie Maalouf gave a brief overview about DiaLeb. After that, Dr. Claire Issa, specialized in endocrinology and metabolism, talked about the types, symptoms, prevention and treatment of diabetes. Ms. Lina Farhat, dietitian at Dialeb, spoke about the importance of healthy balanced eating for the prevention and treatment of diabetes. Blood glucose screening courtesy of One Touch was performed to over 200 attendees, glucose meters were delivered to people with type 2 diabetes. Educational brochures and magazines were also distributed. HbA1C testing was performed to those with high blood sugar.
