0pening of the 10th Celebration of "Christmas by the Lake" with the Minister of Tourism. A humanitarian message
Amid festive Christmas vibes and live entertainment with a 100 Santa Claus, AlMidan NGO and its president Mrs. Rima Frangieh proudly announced the opening of the Christmas by the Lake event, in the presence of Minister Owadis Guidanian. An event prepared in collaboration with the federation of Municipalities of Zgharta and the sponsorship of Alfa Telecommunication. The 10th celebration of the Christmas by the Lake event was dedicated to the NGO's, under the slogan "10 years for 10 NGOs". The event will continue by the Bnachii Lake, till the 9th of January 2018.
The opening was crowned by the lighting of a 30 meters height Christmas tree that encompasses all of the previous trees of the past 10 themes since 2007. This event was full of surprises and challenges, as last year's was ranked 1st worldwide in the Huffington Post.
The festival was bestowed by nothing but positive and fun vibes as the 100 Santa Clauses made a memorable entrance that created an ambiance of joy and happiness.
Tourism minister OwadisGuidanian opened the Festival emphasizing the importance of tourism in Lebanon. Heexpressed his happiness in being present in Zgharta, saying: "I am present here today at the opening of the Christmas tree in Bnachii that represents Lebanon."
This event will go on for a full month, in addition to many entertainment shows that will take place by the lake, every afternoon at 5pm as follows:
December 10: A festive and entertaining play by Mini studio
December 14: A festive and entertaining play under the title of "Nord Pole" with Ghinwa
December 15: A festive and entertaining play under the title of "Louna et le Nuage de Noël"
December 16: A festive evening with Christmas songs with the Ambassador of the Higher Council for Children Christa-Maria AbouAkl
December 21: A festive and entertaining play under the title of "Once Upon a Fairytale" with Wakazou
December 22: A festive and entertaining play under the title of "La Magie de Deux
Lutins"
This season is a season of love, giving, participation and forgiveness. Like the previous years, we emphasize the humanitarian input to the festivities. Al Midan NGO, under the slogan of "10 years for 10 NGOs" decided to support NGO's in North Lebanon to extend a helping hand and spread joy to needy people, through the following associations:

• Don Bosco, Zgharta.
The sides to this event are numerous as it has an environmental and touristic message, namely because Bnachii is one of the top touristic locations in the region. This yearly celebration creates many seasonal job opportunities for the young and helps in achieving social sustainable development in the local community and the North.
