Snowshoeing In The Mountains Of Bsharre

Dear hikers,

We will end our snowshoeing season in the Cedars of God - Bsharre.

Arz Bcharre is one of the most beautiful places in Lebanon. It was nominated, along with the cave of Jeita, to become one of the seven wonders of the world.

The cedar forests of Lebanon are the oldest documented forests in history. There are 31 cedar forests in Lebanon, most significantly the forest of the Cedars of God in Bcharre. It is an ancient grove of cedars, the oldest in Lebanon. It makes a beautiful site, especially in winter, when snow covers it all and gives it a feeling of peace and quiet.

Our trail will start outside the reserve with an altitude of 1950m. We will have an ascents and descents on our way without forgetting the magnificent views of qannoubine valley, the cedar forest, the Mekmel white mountains, hadath el jebbe and tannourine mountains. We will take a nice spot for our lunch as well as having enough time to take amazing pictures.
We will reach an altitude of 2400m and then we will return in a downhill till we reach 2000 m.

Hiking distance: 10 kms (level 5/10)

Total hiking duration: 4.5 hrs

Moving time: 3.5 hrs

Required materials: jacket to keep warm, hiking boots, backpack, 2L of water, raincoat, sunglasses, sunscreen, healthy snacks, hat, gloves.

Fees: 45,000 LBP (including transportation, snowshoes rental, guidance, 5 mins warming up, stretching, and first aid kit but does not include medical insurance)
