Happy Mayrig's day by OrchideaByRita
Celebrating 15 years of success, Mayrig, known for its exquisite experience of home cooked food within Armenian traditions, decided to make this celebration so special. Mayrig and OrchideaByRita with the collaboration of TulipMedia, Beiruting, Aalamoki and COR Medicine invited some public figures and celebrities to a Special lunch at their restaurant placed inside at the far end of Beirut's Gemayze quarter to experience their tasty, rich and diverse platters. The ladies were welcomed by Mrs Aline Kamakian, Owner of Mayrig, and the presence of Mrs Paula Yacoubian added happiness and joy to the ladies who enjoyed her presence and warm wishes for all mothers.
A special menu was prepared for this special occasion, the mothers and ladies enjoyed a variety of delicious Armenian platters prepared with love and creativity by the lovely mothers of Mayrig. A selection of salad (zaitoun, lentil, itch, eggplant, fresh oregano, Armenian salad), and tasty Hommos Basterma topped with smoked beef, a typical mix of Lebanese and Armenian culture in a dish, where in every bite, a slight crunch of the cooked basterma is felt, adding a touch of finesse to this sumptuous food. Supreme dishes were also served: Fishnah Kebab (grilled kebab topped with wild sour cherries), Mante the classic Armenian dish (minced meat dumplings, tomato sauce and yogurt), Zeitov Dolma (selection of Zucchini eggplant, red pepper and onion stuffed with olive oil), Vospov Keufteh, Tchi-Keufteh (raw kebbe Armenian style), Gdzou Patates (spicy fried potatoes), and mouthwatering desserts like Armenian Baklawa and Banirov maamoul (hot cheese maamoul).
All these dishes were beautifully presented in a shallow metal dish.
Mayrig mixes old grandma's traditional recipes with a homey contemporary arrangement. This restaurant acclimatizes the popular classics of Armenian cuisine, while kindly borrowing from Lebanese and other Mediterranean inspirations, in order to feast guests on an astounding array of flavors.
