Let Hope Shine Through: A Fundraising Gala Evening in Support of Lebanon’s Children Organized by himaya NGO
On the evening of Wednesday, June 18, 2025, himaya organized a fundraising gala dinner at Place de l’Étoile – Downtown Beirut, in the presence of public and social figures, politicians, artists, media personalities, and representatives from supporting institutions. The goal of the event was to raise funds to ensure the continued delivery of child protection services against all forms of abuse.
The evening opened with the Lebanese national anthem performed by artist Maryline Naaman, who later also presented a selection of her songs. This was followed by a moving monologue by actor George Khabbaz, along with standout performances by pianist Guy Manoukian and his band, and artist Aziza.
The night concluded with a special performance by Maya Diab, who renewed her support for himaya for the second consecutive year, marking the occasion with the debut of her latest musical release.
The evening also featured an a live auction of 26 unique works generously donated by artists and galleries. The auction was conducted by Mrs. Mariana Wehbe during the event, in parallel with an online auction hosted on Mrs. Nada Boulos’s platform, enabling supporters from both Lebanon and abroad to participate.
The event also witnessed the launch of himaya’s latest awareness campaign, under the slogan:
"إذا معك خبر، عطينا خبر."
The campaign was introduced by himaya’s media ambassador, actress Maguy Bou Ghosn, who called on the public to take responsibility and contact himaya whenever there is suspicion of a case of child abuse.
In their speeches, himaya’s President Mrs. Viviane Debbas and Vice President Mrs. Lilia Sabagh emphasized the importance of collective action to protect children and extended their sincere thanks to all who contributed to the success of this humanitarian event.
The evening concluded with a spirit of hope and engagement, delivering a clear message:
Child protection is a shared national responsibility and a cornerstone for building Lebanon’s future.
