The World in the Image of Man, curated by Nada Ghandour, brings together visual artist Ayman Baalbaki and filmmaker Danielle Arbid in a dialogue between two creations that reflect Beirut’s fragmented reality and enduring imagination. Originally presented as the Lebanese Pavilion at the Biennale Arte 2022, the exhibition explores the tension between past and future, the physical and virtual, and the intimate bond between artists and their city. Through Baalbaki’s monumental installation Janus Gate and Arbid’s evocative film Allô Chérie, the show reveals the dual nature of Lebanon — a place of chaos and beauty, resilience and longing.
