Beirut Chants brings audiences together through music in its 19th edition

    06 november 2026
Beirut Chants launched its 19th edition today at a press conference at the Yacht Club Beirut, attended by Minister of Tourism Laura El Khazen Lahoud; Dr. Ali Samad, Director General of Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture; a number of ambassadors and diplomatic representatives; media representatives; and artists and festival supporters.
Festival President Micheline Abi Samra said: “We have held nineteen editions, year after year and without interruption, even in the most challenging times. Over these years, we have worked to keep music alive in Beirut.
She added: Those years have shown that music is not reserved for a select few but should be accessible to everyone. This year’s program reflects that belief, offering a diverse range of music that invites audiences to discover and reflect.”
Minister of Tourism Laura El Khazen Lahoud said that Beirut Chants had become one of the events that form part of the city’s identity. She noted that its free concerts give audiences the opportunity to hear outstanding musicians and bring people from across Lebanon and different backgrounds together through music during the holiday season.
Richard Azoury, founder of Beirut Chants El Sistema, spoke about the Sounds of Poland violin competition, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Poland in Lebanon, and stressed the importance of making music education accessible to young people and supporting their talents.
The event concluded with the six competition winners receiving their prizes and performing live for the audience.
Over nineteen editions, Beirut Chants has established itself as an annual celebration of music that reflects Beirut’s cultural identity. This year’s program features a distinguished line-up of artists and musicians from Lebanon and around the world.
The festival runs from 1 to 23 December, with all concerts free and open to the public.
