1) Be Physically ActiveIn order to maintain optimal health and eliminate stress, your body needs oxygen and food to feed its cells. This can be achieved through physical activities such as jogging, swimming, cycling, aerobics, etc. Develop a plan to exercise your heart and lungs regularly at a minimum of three days per week for 15 to 30 minutes a day.
2) Play or Listen to MusicMusic is a great therapeutic tool to get people through hard times. Whether you are playing or listening to music, this form of stress relief has been shown to stimulate brainwaves that can have mood altering effects. This shifting of brainwaves allows for the relaxation of your muscles, the ability to be more alert, and improved breathing and heart rate.
3) Develop Self LoveLearn to love yourself by giving yourself positive feedback. Each and every one of us is a unique individual. As long as you are doing the best you can you are doing it right. Keep your head up and develop the habit of rewarding yourself with positive thoughts for what you have accomplished on a daily basis.
4) Control your EnvironmentLearn to control who and what is around you. This method will either get ride of your stress or build a support system around you, which will lead to less stress.
5) Rest your bodyIf your not getting that recommended 7 to 8 hours of sleep (or whatever is appropriate for your needs) then you won't have the energy to deal with life's events, which will create more stress for yourself.
6) Look for the Humor in LifeTake life seriously, but not so serious that it diminishes your enjoyment for life. See the humor in difficult situations and understand that everything will be okay in the end.
7) Get up 15 minutes earlier in the MorningBy getting up 15 minutes earlier those inevitable morning mishaps will be less likely to happen which will lead to less stress. So get up slightly earlier and eliminate a whole lot of unnecessary stress.
8) Look for Healthier Methods of Stimulation other than CaffeineCaffeine can definitely help with stimulating short periods of energy. But what happens when the caffeine wares off and you have no source of replacing that lost energy? By learning to live without the dependency for caffeine you will be that much more of an independent person. In fact, try to develop your daily life without any dependencies or vices. For example, instead of caffeine, try to get at least the recommended amount of water to replenish and refuel lost energy. Water is the foundation of life, drink it up!
9) Relax your StandardsThe world will not end if you don't get the dishes done immediately following dinner or if the grass doesn't get mowed this weekend. Avoid being lazy at all costs, but don't jeopardize your sanity in worrying about every little detail in life.
10) Go for a WalkGo for a walk and let your mind escape your worries for awhile. Everyone deserves a little "me" time and going for a walk is a great way to get away from stress and become lost within our own thoughts.[themindunleashed]
