What happens when your nudes get leaked online? One very brave journalist uploaded her own naked pictures to a revenge porn website to find out.

As part of a documentary about revenge porn, Anna Richardson pretended to be an angry ex boyfriend and uploaded naked selfies (with her face blurred out) to a revenge porn website.

Anna was shocked by the threatening comments that her photos attracted, with users writing they would "destroy this bitch and treat her like the slut bag she is" and "spit in her mouth and choke her while throat f--king".

"I knew a great deal about sexual health from working on The Sex Education Show but this was something new to me. I thought it was bad, you know, an ex posting pictures of your boobs on Facebook, but not like this. It's a lot more complex and insidious than people think."

The programme discovered that users comment anonymously and trade information found on social media or through hacking about these where these women live and work, and what their daily routines are. They talk about how they would rape and murder women whose photos have been posted online and congratulate each other for driving victims to self harm and suicide.

Anna's pictures had more than 100,000 hits, showing just how quickly revenge porn can spread.

Revenge Porn airs Monday August 17 at 10pm on Channel 4.
