Technology that helps some of the fastest race cars in the world stay light enough to hit top speeds on the racetrack has been incorporated into an ultralight hi-tech wheelchair.
Carbon fibre strands built into the structure of the chair absorb vibrations from the road ensuring a smooth ride for the user.
It is made by the experts behind the super-lightweight bodies for F1 cars.
Ms Perrey, from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, said:'What I love about it is that people don't notice the chair or the disability, but they see me as a person.'I can still walk providing there are things I can hold onto but the chair is a real help with my day to day life.'It folds down easily into my mum's car to go to work and is great for going out in. 'I took out the loan because it was what I wanted to give me real independence.'
