    You can avoid age related health issues by eating one walnut per day

    A new research has suggested that a daily consumption of walnuts can help seniors keep health-related issues at bay.
    The findings showed that intake of walnuts, especially by the elderly, can boost the good fats and other nutrients as well as lower obesity and blood cholesterol levels. Initially found to increase body weight
    "The preliminary results of the Walnuts and Healthy Ageing (WAHA) study demonstrates that daily consumption of walnuts for one year by a sizable cohort of ageing free-living persons has no adverse effects on body weight," said lead investigator Emilio Ros, Director of the Lipid Clinic, Endocrinology & Nutrition Service at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona in Spain.
    "They also show that the well-known cholesterol-lowering effect of walnut diets works equally well in the elderly and is maintained in the long term," he added.

    these findings help advance the understanding of potential benefits of eating walnuts as part of a healthy diet.
    The findings from the Walnuts and Healthy Aging (WAHA) study were presented at the ongoing Experimental Biology 2016 in San Deigo, US.
