OLX Lebanon, the leading online classifieds platform in the Middle East and North Africa, has compiled an extensive report for the period in between January and June 2016 that reflects how well it has been received by the market. OLX believes in observing utmost transparency in all its operations and undertakes to regularly publish facts and figures pertaining to consumer search patterns, demand and supply behaviours as well as the most frequent items sought out for on OLX Lebanon in a variety of categories. The growing popularity of the platform is a credible proof of its success in the Lebanese market and the confidence the people have placed on it.

Commenting on the results of the OLX Lebanon report, Abdallah Touqan, Director of Public relations and Communications at OLX MENA stated, "The report reflects the amount of growth we have achieved in such a short span of time and also shows that we have progressed in leaps and bounds. The results we got proves that Lebanese residents resort to OLX Lebanon as a reliable platform to find simple house-hold products on one hand and seal even bigger deals involving their cars and properties on the other."

When comparing the figures from July to December 2015 to January to June 2016, the number of monthly active users grew by 30% while the number of visits to the OLX Lebanon platform escalated by as much as 53%. The total number of listings across all verticals recorded a 266%, while each Lebanese user spent around 12 minutes on the platform per visit. On Average, each listing on OLX Lebanon received an average of 26 inquiries.

Second hand items for sale on OLX Lebanon for January to June 2016

The Items for sale category recorded a massive growth, as the number of listings was 8 times higher in the first half of 2016 compared to the last half of 2015.Users searched mainly for summer activities items with ATV being the most searched item. Statistics also show that motorcycles and PS4 were the other most searched keywords. Along with summer fun comes the wedding season in Lebanon, where the platform recorded more than 800 wedding dresses listings and over 500 evening dresses.

Cars on OLX Lebanon for January to June 2016

OLX Lebanon cars section witnessed animmense growth of 274% growth in the number of listings for cars in the period January to June 2016 as compared to the last six months of 2015 (July to December 2015). Each car listed generated an average of 35 inquiries. The most listed car brands on OLX Lebanon for the period were BMW being with 22,393 listings, followed by Mercedes-Benz with 18,281 listings and Honda with 9,490 listings.

Property on OLX Lebanon for January to June 2016

Being the credible resort for Lebanese residents to seal their property deals, OLX Lebanon property section witnessed a marked growth of 52% in the period between January to June 2016 as compared to the lastsix months of 2015 (July to December 2015). Each property listing generated an average of 21inquiries which enabled users to get more options when making an important property related deal. The top 3 searched areas were Metn area with 38,480 searches, followed by Kesrouan with 29,782 and Chiah with 22,322 searches. With regard to areas that were listed on OLX Lebanon,Achrafieh was on top of the list, followed by Ras Beirut and Sin el Fil.
