    Fashion on a Budget

    11 november 2016

College days are probably the only days that we can experiment most with fashion. We don't know about you, but our high schools enforced uniforms so we were never able to try out things until we got to college.

We absolutely LOVE fashion, but we hate having an empty wallet. It's a tough world out there for college students to be living on a budget. Just because we are broke that doesn't mean our clothes have to suffer.

Here are 5 tips that we learned on how to look fabulous on a budget.

    1.SALES SALES SALES
We know that we ALL know this trick and it's really hard to wait for that cute top you just saw, but you have to wait. Patience is a virtue lovely darlings.

    • If you are worried about the store running out of the item you have been waiting on, fear not! You can always ask the salesperson to contact a different branch at another location to save it. Trust us you will find it!

    • Did you know that you can reserve an item from 3 - 10 days? Depends on the store of course. Also, we learned to make friends with the salesperson and ask for inside info on when's the next sale. So, challenge yourself to make a new friend today!

    2.FORGET BRANDS
I am truly sorry, but you simply cannot afford it right now. Wait till you graduate and get that high paying job. One can only dream...

Okay, fine. You can't forget about your favorite brand can you? Then we are going to whisper a little secret: Outlet. Yes, go visit an outlet store. They have all your favorites and for 50 % - 70 % off just because no one wanted to buy them in the right season. Clothes in outlet stores are like puppies in an animal shelter. They all want to be adopted. Can you hear their cries? Buuuuymeee

    3.BUY ACCESSORIES
Weknow you're thinking: Wait, what? How is that going to help? Well, we noticed that it's so easy to fool your friends into thinking that you bought a new outfit simply by mixing and matching your clothes with different accessories. If you are bored of that simple dress you have had in the back of the closet since a while ago then spice it up with a gorgeous new necklace.

Accessories drastically change boring old outfits into a vibrant new one. You can even say "This old thing?" when your friends compliment you for your awesome style and then laugh inside your head because it actually is an old thing. It's probably that old thing that your mom wanted you to donate. Who's laughing now mom? Who's laughing now?

    4.THRIFT AND VINTAGE
Paying full price for new items is totally outdated. It's actually the new trend to buy old clothes. You can ask your mom if she has something saved from the 70s or 80s. If she doesn't have anything then there are a few thrift stores in Lebanon and there's always events going on. It is a little bit more work to your shopping experience but a pleasurable one. Ask us for where to find the store if you don't know and we can help you out!

    5.SELL YOUR KIDNEY
If all of the tips failed and your brain is still screaming at you to buy that overpriced outfit then sell your kidney. You are a healthy college student. Whoever said that you needed two kidneys anyway?

All jokes aside, what we are trying to say is that you need to have a little bit of self-control. Train your mind and your thoughts to not want more than what you have and to appreciate things that you do have.
