Burberry offered customers the chance to personalize their handbags. Over the course of three consecutive days, the luxury brand set up a monogramming station, flying in artist Kitty Beamish to hand paint clients' desired initials on their purses and leather goods.
The event was held at Aïshti by the Sea's Burberry store on March 28 and 29, followed by a cocktail reception, and at the Burberry boutique in Downtown Beirut on March 30, as customers excitedly waited to have their initials painted on their favorite Burberry bags.
"I use American paints that are made for painting trainers and sports shoes. There are 15 colors, chosen by Burberry, and you can choose your color, up to two or three," explains Beamish. Clients chose from two available fonts: the classic Burberry Roman alphabet, or the newly developed Bikram alphabet. Using chalk pens, Beamish drew in the initials and then used specific brushes to paint the letters.
Burberry's monogramming events have already been a major success in Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, Barcelona and countless others, and now Beirut has made the list.
