Places to visit in Lebanon If Travel isn't an Option

    23 july 2018

Exorbitant costs for activities, a dying economy, and an insanely exciting social life might put a damper on your day and break the bank. So when it comes time to book your travels for the summer, your budget might be a bit tight. Sometimes leaving isn't an option, so we've rounded up several of our favorite places in Lebanon to visit.

    Baalbeck

Bask in what's known as the ancient Phoenician city and the beautifully enigmatic ruins of the Roman Empire. Baalbeck is located east of the Litani River in Beqaa Valley and is home to one of Lebanon's most visited attractions. Visitors from all over take a trip to explore the Temple of Jupiter, Temple of Bacchus, and the Stone of the Pregnant Woman.

    Chouwen

What used to be an unknown trail in Lebanon is now everyone's favorite campsite and moderate hiking adventure. A small entrance fee will get you into the trail where you can take the famous picture above the river or take the main trail down to the lake where you will be met with happy campers and adventurous souls swinging on ropes. Adrenaline junkies might dare to continue for a freezing cold swim through a stunning cave and grandiose rocks.

    Harissa

The top of Harissa will unravel an incomparable panoramic view of Lebanon's breathtaking vast waters. Take a short winding flight of stairs to experience the view of our gorgeous country from the eyes of our Lady of Lebanon. Nearby, you'll also be able to go paragliding above the coast, grab a drink at some of Jounieh's famous pubs, or enjoy the area's great architecture. A trip across the sky on the cable cars is also a must, especially as the sun slowly sets above the waters.

    Laqlouq

Truly a sight for sore eyes, the view of Laqlouq, especially from a cliff in Akoura is breathtaking. From sightseeing and hiking to stargazing and camping, your trip is sure to be loaded with adventure. Depending on the weather, visitors can ski and bundle up in a cozy resort, or rent a chalet and sightsee.
