Longest Total Eclipse of the Century

    30 july 2018
The longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century took place on Friday July 27, and the total phase of the Blood Moon lasted around two hours where the latter turned red in color. The eclipse wasn’t visible to viewers around the world but only in a few areas such as Asia, Africa and luckily, the Middle East. This total eclipse occurred on the same day when Mars reached its opposition and shined bright, and the Moon appeared red because some of the sunlight was bent around the edges of the Earth and fell on the Moon’s surface with long wavelengths of light to create this phenomenon.
