LMAB 2015 Beirut Young Fashion Designers Competition

The Young Designers Competition took place on November 6, 2015 at Forum De Beyrouth, under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Culture - an event first of its kind, during Lebanon's official and most prestigious fashion week - La Mode A Beyrouth.

La Mode A Beyrouth featured numerous Local & International Designers and Brands showcasing their latest collections in the presence of a superior audience.

The Young Fashion Designers Competition was born out of the passion and ambition to highlight and encourage local and young talent. It included young designers from all fashion universities and institutes in Lebanon, who wished to jumpstart their careers through an exceptional experience and at the hands of the industry's finest.

During the day, the participants attended seminars by Giscardo Mannequins, Coin Blue, Strassco, Inspiration Group Photography, Pace & Luce and Makeup Studio, in order to make their experience an educational one as well. Mrs. Blanka Matraji, gave the participants her success story and was head of the jury.

The competition included 24 participants all of whom are students from ESMOD, NDU, AUST, CAMM and Academy of Fashion. Each participant created and showcased four outfits. Three of their outfits were to their own individual style and their fourth outfit was to the theme of Movember - Mustache November, consequently raising awareness on Men's health through fashion, an initiative also supported by Mr. Nemer Saade.

23 contestants judged on their creativity were reduced to 10 semifinalists - judged on their theme outfit - from which the third, second and first place winner were chosen.

The panel of judges included, Mrs. Blanka Matraji, Mr. Nemer Saade, Mrs. Grace Rihan, Miss. Aline Watfa, Miss. Reem El Khazen, Mrs. Ahed Ghraizy, and Miss. Cynthia Fadlallah.
