Platform Horizon-A Session with Reem Acra

At the invitation of PLATFORM HORIZON, a culture group for women,Reem Acra shared her inspirational journey with more than 130 Lebanese women opinion leaders.

A conference was held at Phoenicia Hotel whereby during a 2-hour discussion ReemAcra shared her lifetime journey, including her beginnings, her passion, and her successes.

This event is part a series of activities undertaken by PLATFORM HORIZON with the aim of furthering knowledge and horizons.

Mrs.Roula Talal El Khalil, president of PLATFORM HORIZON, opened the conference by saying how proud she is today as the audience has grown from 15 women not so long ago to reach more than 130. "Empowering women and giving them the opportunity to attend and to share experiences of other successful personalities is key to the success of our association", she concluded.

Reem Acra took center stage: "Fashion is Passion", she proclaimed: "everything I am today I owe it to one person my Mom," she added. Sharing her journey from the beginning, Reem revealed that it was her best friend that led to the creation of her now famed bridal collection; insisting that she would only get married if Reem designed her dress. Today, Reem is proud to have reached international acclaim, dressing top celebrities such as Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez and Angelia Jolie, to name a few.

Following the session, the audience got the unique chance to mingle one on one with Reem.

Platform Horizon has been active since 2010 and this year marks their 8^thseason. The association will continue to create unique opportunities to empower women.
