    “Capharnaum” by Nadine Labaki on top of the Lebanese Box Office in 2018

    The Lebanese film "Capharnaum"(English name: Capernaum) is still ruling the Lebanese box office, seven weeks after its theatrical release, according to the official statistics from the Lebanese theaters.

    It's the #1 box office film of 2018 in lebanon.

    It is also a box office smash in France and Switzerland where it is also currently released.

     

    "Capharnaum" was just nominated to the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) for Best International Independent Film, and this nomination in the UK is similar to the Academy Awards in America and the Cesar Awards in France.

     

    The film also won several prestigious awards, notably audience awards in Australia, Canada, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United States and Belgium to name a few. Today, "Capharnaum" wins its 14th international prize at the Sao Paulo Film Festival in Brazil, where it snatched the Audience Award for Best International Feature Film.

    "Capharnaum" continues its successful theatrical run, attracting an ever-growing audience of all ages and backgrounds, staunch supporters of culture and film buffs.
