The Ophthalmology Department at the LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital has always been one of the leading eye departments in the country in offering excellent care for patients. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility campaign, the medical center has partnered with the Vision Care Association (VCA) for its free eye evaluation campaign. The VCA is a non-profit organization that provides free eye care assessments along with other medical, educational and social services for all individuals across the Middle East.Families living in different suburban areas of Lebanon were invited for a free eye care assessment in the LAU Medical Center- Rizk Hospital garden, where they were offered comprehensive eye examination and diagnostic testing. "Our mission today is to provide every individual with the needed eye care, especially that here, at LAU Medical Center- Rizk Hospital we have a multi-disciplinary team of eye specialists and professional staff, in addition to cutting-edge eye equipment with an active residency training program" said Dr. Nicola Ghazi, professor and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the LAU Medical Center- Rizk Hospital. He continued: "today we were able to test more than 350 people over a period of 4 hours thanks to our ophthalmologists, residents, optometrists, clinical coordinators, nurses and administrative staff, not to forget the amazing support provided by the Vision Care Association for the success of this event."In addition, this event aimed to educate a high percentage of people about the importance of routine eye examination and to shed light on various ophthalmic diseases as well as systemic diseases that may affect the eye.
