Freedom is a State of Mind The 75th Independence Anniversary celebrated by NG Art Studio

    15 november 2018

Lebanese women, with their ambitions, intelligence and strength, have shown they can be active members of society having their influence on all areas unconditionally. In fact, their role in maintaining the independence and freedom values is beyond any suspicion!

On the occasion of the 75th Lebanese Independence Anniversary, Angelina Riachi, artist and founder of NG Art Studio, took the initiative to unite eight Political Lebanese women figures from different parties in one picture, at the Parliament Square on the 6th of November 2018.

The artist gathered Political Women from different backgrounds who have shown, along their lives, the true values of Freedom and tolerance of others which has brought great honour upon our nation over the years.

    The participating women were:

    -         MP Paula Yaacoubian: "Society has intimidated and set limits for women, however, they should not be afraid to cross those limits and set the road for the coming generations.

And to all the Lebanese people, always remember that Independence is a mission beyond any religion, confession or race."

    -         MP Roula Tabsh: "Independence has to be achieved on all the Lebanese territories. It is crucial to reinforce our national organisations, limit the migration of the youth, prevent wars and solve problems peacefully."

    -         Maya Zaghrini: "Independence and freedom are the roots of everything. We have to be united to achieve the ultimate independence for Lebanon!"

    -         Youmna Gemayel: "The true independence is achieved when we can implement well-founded freedom values in Lebanon, and as Bachir once said, to always say the truth, no matter how hard it is."

    -         Faten Younes: "We have to be united regardless of each one's religion, confession, political party and work hand in hand for a better Lebanon!"

    -         Nayla Tueni

    -         Sarah Aoun

They all wore the white sweater, designed by NG Art Studio, with the drawing of a young girl holding red and white balloons with the Lebanese Cedar, which symbolizes every Lebanese woman who has shown unquestionable integrity and patriotism to her country through her work, career start up, or even her political path, leading the way for a brighter future for Lebanon, bringing positive social change and contributing to the growth of the country. The barbed strings over-note the obstacles that people create for each other through intolerance and prejudice, and finally the balloons symbolise the freedom that is attainable once we let go of all bigotry.

In the hope that this initiative has contributed in promoting the message of tolerance, union, respect of others and mostly the importance of inner and outer freedom; we wish all the Lebanese a happy 75th independence day!
