The face of the future is a HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro

    21 november 2018

Back when we owned landlines, we did not worry much about what they looked like. A neutral color - or one to match the living room - was the main feature expected from a telephone. In today's era, our call-making companions are expected to do a lot more while still looking their best and giving off a high-tech feel. There however seems to be a stagnation in smartphone designs and in their user-interaction approach, leaving users frustrated and hungry for that special futuristic kick that never seems to be found. Sure, all smartphones have been upgrading their operating systems and integrating new and useful functions, but they all remain quite similar in interaction and looks. The HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro however, understand users' need for innovation and stands out by 'bringing the future' not just through Artificial Intelligence which it integrates in its chipset, but also through its distinctive design and impressively futuristic interaction which we will be tackling in this article.

    Touch it open

In the race for bezel annihilation, the HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro has virtually taken out all what was left of it - the home button.  Removing the latter has left the device looking elegant and slick thanks to an uninterruptedly smooth screen. The Fingerprint unlock function was upgraded, becoming an Inscreen fingerprint. The user simply needs to place their finger on the screen itself for a prompt to appear, identify and unlock the device. Once the device is unlocked, the prompt naturally disappears. This intuitive and practical process features a visually pleasing and technologically advanced approach, making smartphones with a regular fingerprint feature look and feel ancient. The future is button-free!

    Cruise through it with swipes

The long awaited 'high-tech' interaction has found its way onto the market with the navigation gesture the HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro has integrated.  The FullView experience gives users the option of dismissing the navigation bar and navigating through the phone with swipes instead of pressing around. The removed navigation bar here is, once more, giving way to more screen space. In addition to that, users can cruise through the phone in a more intuitive, natural manner. Swiping from the bottom up to go to the Home screen, swiping from the bottom up and pausing to access the multi-task interface and swiping inwards from either edges of the screen to go back - making it as user-friendly for left-handed users as it is for the right-handed ones. You can even bring up Google Assistant by swiping up from the either of the lower corners of the screen. The process is so fluid and practical, it automatically becomes second-nature.

    Top your friends' up

What feels more 'high-tech' than being able to charge your friends' phone wirelessly? That's right, the HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro features the world's first Reverse Wireless Charging option that lets you charge another smartphone (regardless of the brand, as long as they support Qi) simply by running the feature and placing both smartphones against one another. This isn't just an impressive party trick, it works - pretty fast too.

In terms of a futuristic touch, no smartphone can beat the HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro, which is both innovative and practical. It never ceases to surprise users with technologically advanced features that are highly intriguing and perfectly safe, making it one of the best smartphones to own at the moment.
