There's no better time than the start of a new year to de-clutter your life, mind, and everything around you. Adopting a minimalist lifestyle can increase happiness and peace of mind and can help relieve you of feeling overwhelmed. So we're sharing a 21-day challenge that will help you live your best (minimalist) life yet.
Day 1: Get rid of 30 unnecessary items around the house
Clothes, shoes, paperwork, expired gift cards, and just about anything that you know you'll never need again, can go.
Day 2: Do a digital self-audit
Locate what you no longer want people to find about you online and delete it. This goes for old embarrassing pictures on Facebook, and Tweets that you'd be ashamed to share today.
Day 3: Turn off notifications for a day
And watch how productive you'll become.
Day 4: Let go of one toxic relationship
It won't happen in a day but make yourself a promise today, that you wont let the toxic person back into your life under any circumstance.
Day 5: Make one payment to start paying off debt
Car loan? Credit card? Whatever! Just a small payment to feel like you've accomplished something.
Day 6: Clean out your inbox
Leave no emails unread. Everything can be answered immediately, scheduled for a later time, or deleted.
Day 7: Unsubscribe from email lists you don't bother reading
You really don't need those daily distractions about clothing on sale
Day 8: Leave, delete, or mute Whatsapp groups that are getting out of control
Because you can do without the daily good morning texts from Grandma, and 9 aunts and uncles
Day 9: Toss out old bills, receipts, or paperwork that have no purpose anymore
*Shreds entire office*
Day 10: Delete old phone numbers
You're probably never going to need the number of your high school chemistry lab partner again
Day 11: Clean your closet
Keep only pieces you can see yourself wearing within the next year
Day 12: Practice completing a single task at a time
Goodbye multitasking and hello penciling in breathing sessions
Day 13: Start a savings account
