This Saturday, the slopes of Mzaar Ski Resort in Kfardebian witnessed the 3rd edition of Red Bull Jump and Freeze with 21 teams demonstrating their will for creativity and fun storytelling.
21 teams made up of 3 members each made their way to the Lebanese snowy mountains for a day full of entertainment. Every team had one-minute to tell their story concept while going down the slope in their costumes and vehicles to finally jump into the freezing pool. The line-up of teams was very rich with different themes being showcased: from video game themes, to social media trend themes and environment friendly themes.
The event was hosted by Ghayd Chammas from the page "El 3ama" and renowned singer LaToya. The participating teams were judged by online comedian Blogger Wannabe, motorsports local legend Abdo Feghali and social media fitness figure Jad Hadid. The event also received well-liked invitees such as TV comedians - OhMyJad, also known as Jad Bou Karam and Elie Jlede, also known as Ely Chemaly.
This year, the competition also included some corporate teams such as G-Shock representing the watch brand, Spinneys representing one of Lebanon's biggest supermarkets, Sai Sushi representing the Japanese cuisine restaurant. 2 teams of the creative field also participated:
X-Lab Agency and, The Banana Split who represented the Disco Banana party theme from Beirut's clubs - Discotek. These teams used the concept of Red Bull Jump And Freeze to introduce their products in an unusual way.
After 2 hours of jumping and freezing, the winners were announced. The winning team was "Dumper & Dump" made up of Emilio Mouanes, Cesar Mrad and Emile Abou Chaker. Their creative team name says it all: their vehicle was made out of 280 plastic water bottles that they collected from trash over 2 weeks, while their helmets were composed of the 3 recyclable elements - paper, plastic and organic components. Their goal was to promote recycling and that trash can be reused.
Team G-Shock came in second place with a real-life sized watch as one of the members' costumes and Team ASTROنطّ came in third with their concept re-enacting astronauts arriving on the moon.
