    Under the Auspices of His Excellency, Minister for Tourism, MrFady ABBOUD,Byblos International Festival held a Press conference,to announce the line up for 2013 edition,at Byblos Sur Mer on 20th of May.

     

    Byblos International Festival 2013 Features:

     

    YANNI
    Sunday June 30 & Monday July 1 - 8:30pm
    Superstar composer and global phenomenon Yanni is finally coming to Lebanon to play his greatest hits, accompanied by an orchestra of virtuoso musicians and vocalists. 

    Best-known for his television special Live at the Acropolis, his concerts are truly uplifting experiences with dazzling visual effects. After playing the most impressive venues in the world, Yanni will put the historic port of Byblos under his spell!


    NIGHTWISH
    Thursday July 4 - 8:30pm
    Nightwish, the iconic metal band from Finland, will be hitting our Festival stage full force on July 4! Having revived the symphonic metal genre, they achieved mainstream success by introducing Celtic and medieval elements into their music. 

    Fronted by the stunning Floor Jansen (ex-After Forever) on vocals, Nightwish will be playing tracks from their latest album Imaginaerum alongside their biggest hits ("Wish I Had an Angel", "Nemo", "Over the Hills and Far Away"...). 
    Their Lebanese fans are in for one hell of a treat!



    CEELO GREEN
    Monday July 8 - 9:30pm
    Multi-talented and flamboyant, CeeLo Green is a modern day soul machine. 
    This five-time Grammy Award Winning singer-songwriter-producer is known far and wide as the voice behind the hits "Crazy", "F*** You!" (aka "Forget You") and "Bright Lights Bigger City".

    Recognized by TV audiences all over the world as one of the judges on the USA version of "The Voice", the endlessly inventive CeeLo Green will thrill Lebanon with his trademark croon and his unique take on soul, pop, and funky hiphop!


    LANA DEL REY

    Glamorous femme fatale, fashion icon, immensely successful singer, Lana Del Rey is all of the above and more.

    In just over 2 years, her astonishing presence, seductive look and distinctive voice have made her a huge international star. Currently the ambassador of some of the world's best-known brands, she will be gracing our shores for one exclusive night to perform all her hits ("Video Games", "Summertime Sadness", "Ride"...)

    PET SHOP BOYS

    Renowned for their breathtaking live performances that combine light shows, choreographies, eccentric costumes and incredibly catchy music, Pet Shop Boys will play Lebanon for the first time ever, as part of their Electric Tour. Prepare yourself for some serious "Domino Dancing"!


    RAHBANI SUMMER NIGHT
    Wednesday July 17 and Thursday July 18 - 9:30pm
    Oussama and Ghadi Rahbani present the best of the Rahbani works in two exclusive concerts performed by a constellation of Lebanese stars: Ghassan Saliba, Ronza, Hiba Tawaji, Simon Obeid, Nader Khoury and Elie Khayat.

    Accompanied by a full choir and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine conducted by maestro Vladimir Sirenko, Rahbani Summer Night features an assorted bouquet of songs from the rich repertoire of the Rahbani Brothers, of Mansour Rahbani, as well as of Elias, Marwan, Ghadi and Oussama Rahbani.

    A beautiful journey through one family's legacy and its influence on Arabic music.




    PACO DE LUCÍA
    Monday July 22 - 8:30pm
    Paco de Lucía is the most innovative and influential flamenco guitarist of the last forty years. One of the greatest musicians alive today, beyond genres, styles, or categories, he plays his way right into audience's hearts with his brilliant mix of technical skill and feeling. 

    Paco de Lucía will be performing at Byblos accompanied by six extremely talented artists from Spain and Cuba. Their music, song and dance will set this summer night on fire!



    CRAZY OPERA
    Wednesday July 24 - 9:30pm
    Try to blend opera arias with Arabic melodies and people will definitely call you crazy. But Soprano Samar Salamé pulls it off so naturally in this delightfully fresh production staged by Jean Sakr!
    Crazy Opera brings together a choir, a classical orchestra conducted by Fr. Toufic Maatouk and an Oriental ensemble led by Ziyad Sahhab on the Oud. With the participation of dancers and guests such as Tony Abou Jaoudeh, this remarkable show is anything but your typical night at the opera!





    SCORPIONS
    Friday July 26 and Saturday July 27 - 9:30pm
    This summer, Scorpions return to Byblos by popular demand!
    Following the enormous success of their last visit in 2011, they're back for two exceptional concerts! 

    One of the biggest bands of all time, Scorpions have set the blueprint for power ballads with anthems like "Still Loving You" or "Wind of Change" and have rocked audiences around the world for over 40 years.
