Ted Baker is proud to announce the opening of his very first store within the prestigious Beirut City Centre Mall. Opening on the 23rd May 2013, the 198 m2 store will showcase Ted's Spring Summer menswear, womenswear and accessory collections.
Eminent for his distinctive and individual designing each store all over the world, once again this new store is no exception. On this occasion the store interior is based on the knowledge that Lebanon washome to the Phoenicians who are believed to be one of the earliest ancestors of almost all modern alphabets.
The Phoenician alphabet concept follows a highly patterned letter design, therefore Ted has researched into sequences and arrangements of letters and typography which form a very relevant comparison. The use of letter press aesthetics such as old books and typewriters for the furniture treatments work well against Ted's typically exquisite and luxurious finishing's.
The cash desk is situated in front of a red velvet curtained wall and uses an enclosed display of open fanned ancient books with some folded into patterns.Upon entering the store the first main feature you see are the surrounding walls which use a bespoke wallpaper of over sized letter press design panels in an unsystematic arrangement. The store combines a mixture of industrialised fabrics such as brass and wood with luxurious fabrics such as velvet and leather, all in a rich colour palette of burgundy, gold and orange.
A monochrome marble floor at the entrance invites customers to enter the store, and gradually transforms into a diagonally laid wooden floor throughout the rest of the store.
The fitting rooms use curved panelled screens with laser cut traditional Arabic patterns and within the panels are individual rotating display plinths.
Spilt into menswear and womenswear, the store provides a quirky backdrop to showcase Ted's SS13 collections. Mixing 1950s chic with 21st century style, Ted's womenswear collection resonates with feminine charm and fresh detailing to equip the modern lady with a touch of 'international savoir faire', wherever she goes. Inspired by quirky keepsakes rediscovered by Ted in his attic, Ted's menswear collection offers a symphony of colour and prints and includes a fine selection of lightweight pieces with smart linings not to mention inbuilt pocket squares on all blazers completing the look, every time.
So welcome to Ted's Spring/Summer 13 Finishing School: the smartest collection of menswear, womenswear and accessories crafted to pass with flying colours. As Ted always says, confidence is both a state of mind and a straightened Windsor knot.
