Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon Abdul Aal al-Kinai announced on Saturday that Kuwait will help rebuild wheat silos at Port of Beirut that was destroyed by a recent huge explosion,
"We decided that the best and most appropriate way to start with financial aid is to rebuild the silos which provide the strategic stock of wheat for Lebanon," al-Kinai said.
An international conference through the United Nations will assess the damage and how other countries can help repair the damage, he noted.
Kuwait has allocated 41 million U.S. dollars to help Lebanon through the crisis, the ambassador revealed.
Two huge explosions rocked Port of Beirut at around 6:10 p.m. local time (1510 GMT) on Aug. 4, killing at least 177 and wounding about 6,000 others.
