On the 9th of June 2013, at the break of dawn, rowboat tRIO departed from Geralton, in Western, Australia towards the Mauritius on a 6500km journey across the Indian Ocean. Maxime Chaya,( Lebanese) is no stranger to adventure, he has the Seven Summit, as well as the Three Poles under his belt, making him the 6th person in history to complete the Grand Slam (Seven Summits and Three Poles). Chaya, along with his teammates, Livar Nysted (Faroe Islands) and Stuart Kershaw (UK), who have both rowed the Atlantic, if successful on this expedition will set a world record as the first three man team to row across the Indian Ocean.
Unassisted and unsupported, once the boat departs, it cannot turn back whatever the reason, as winds and currents will prevent it from doing so.
