The Minister of Public Health in the caretaker government, Dr. Hamad Hassan, announced that the cost of PCR examination in government hospital laboratories will be reduced to one hundred thousand Lebanese pounds, according to a circular that will be issued next Monday. He confirmed that Baalbek Governmental Hospital will be accredited as a vaccination center from mid-February, after the arrival of the Pfizer vaccine.
Many people cannot afford the cost of the PCR examination of 150,000 pounds due to the economic situation, so we will issue a circular next Monday morning to reduce the cost of the PCR examination in government hospitals to 100,000 pounds, that is, by leaving a very small profit margin for hospitals, and we in turn as a ministry hand over hospitals The government also has free examinations, but through epidemiological surveillance teams that diagnose cases in contact and have symptoms, and hospitals are provided with nominal lists of those cases.
