Top emerging contemporary artists came together from all over Lebanon and the Middle East for the Afkart exhibition. Artists took part of this exclusive and traditional art event held at the Beirut Souks from the 26th till the 30th of June, 2013.
AFKART has, for the last 11 years, been a platform for emerging and established artists to showcase their greatest designs and for visitors to buy directly from the artist.
Over 100 artists showcased their fine selections of paintings, photography art, illustrations, handicrafts and fashion jewelry and accessories, . Those rising artists will follow the steps of their fellow ones who possess creative insightful perspectives on life became real success stories having marked their beginnings with AFKART and have now sensed art at its best.
"We are glad that the turnout of this year's show added cheer and joyfulness to the hearts of the Lebanese people. The addition of a booth dedicated to performance art
addressed the reinforcement of the demands of an audience that wants to feel empowered, engaged and involved" said Maha Masri, Public Relations Manager of AFKART.
AFKART has become a heritage to the Lebanese arts & culture scene - having been
here for the past 11 years. Until 2012, AFKART was reserved exclusively for Lebanese
designers and talents, this year, the organizational team decided to open the event up
to all artists coming from the neighboring countries to host a greater number of artists
and much more exciting contemporary art.
Visitors enjoyed the fashion and art shows, musical performances and the unique workshops that were held in coordination with Beirut Design Week.
