LG Electronics star product 84-inch ULTRA HD TV provided to the cause of children protection through the Himaya Charity auction.
LG Electronics and SEALCO, its exclusive distributor of Consumer Electronics products in Lebanon, were active diamond sponsors and participants of the event with a contribution amounting USD 50,000, which was organized in June at the Beirut Souks.
At this high profile event aimed at raising funds for the different projects of Himaya which is active in fighting Child abuse all over Lebanon, 650 attendees were there to support the NGO's cause and take part in the bid. Three other parties presented respectively a Bvlgari Watch, a Vespa Motorcycle as well as a Fiat Car. Bids on the LG ULTRA HD TV set started with USD 15,000 and went to a lucky winner where all proceeds went to support Himaya's various Child protection initiatives.
Highlighting the importance of such involvements, LG Lebanon's General Manager Sean Lee described the Himaya Charity event's participation as "part of an ongoing commitment to the company's social engagement program, seeking to contribute increasingly to the civic society which is fighting pressing social challenges." From his end, Mr. Hassan Shaker CEO - Shaker Group, emphasized "Our support to the civil society through social acts is part of our culture and commitment to the community. And Himaya's objectives come in line with our values".
Himaya is a NGO which mission is to put ends to the maltreatment of kids. It is active in empowering children and allowing them to have self protection means. Himaya is also providing training and support for parents and education professionals. It extends rehabilitation assistance to the abuse victims and their families and promotes the upgrade of laws that enforce children rights.
