Artist Valerie Ghoussaini Transforms Art into Action at her latest exhibition “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”

    25 august 2025

All proceeds from “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” will be donated to CHANCE to fund life-saving treatment and therapy

Wadi 99 Art Gallery and renowned artist Valerie Ghoussaini proudly present “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” a compelling, benevolent art exhibition opening August 21, 2025, at 6 PM and running through September 21, 2025, in Beirut.

This emotionally resonant exhibition showcases selections from Ghoussaini’s Girlfriends series (2009–present) and her Women of Power and Interest series (Venice Biennale, 2017). It transforms narrativedriven art into direct support for children in need, with 100 percent of proceeds donated to CHANCE (Children Against Cancer)—a Lebanese nonprofit founded in 2002 that provides comprehensive medical care, lifesaving medication, and vital psychosocial and art therapy to children battling cancer and blood disorders.

This exhibition is more than a gallery show—it is art as activism, compassion in motion, and storytelling in service of healing. As the Owner of Wadi 99 Art Gallery, explains:

“Art is a vehicle for activism. This exhibition shows how creativity can extend beyond the canvas, carrying with it the power to inspire, mobilize, and directly support those in need. Through Valerie’s work, art becomes more than expression, it becomes action.”

“Girls Just Want to Have Fun” isn’t just an exhibition—it’s an invitation to join an art-powered mission for hope and healing.

“Our gratitude goes to Valerie Ghoussaini, for her artistic generosity; to CHANCE, for their unwavering dedication to vulnerable children; and to the guests, collectors, and supporters whose participation turns art into advocacy”, added the Owner of Wadi99 Art Gallery.

Art enthusiasts, philanthropists, cultural institutions, NGOs, media, and the wider Lebanese public are warmly invited starting August 21st to experience how at Wadi 99, every brushstroke supports hope, every story inspires change, and every sale directly benefits children in need.
