Rebirth Beirut successfully launched the new year with a bold and innovative exhibition format on January 12th, 2026, marking a strong start to its 2026 cultural program. The opening of “As We Exist”, a solo exhibition by Hiba El-Khatib Badreddine, attracted a large and engaged audience, confirming the event’s success and impact.

For the opening, a catwalk-style presentation for paintings was introduced, redefining how art is experienced. Artworks were presented in motion, transforming the space into a dynamic visual journey and offering visitors an immersive and unconventional way to engage with contemporary art. The concept was met with enthusiastic feedback from attendees and marks an important moment in the cultural space’s ongoing journey.

Working primarily with collage and mixed media, Hiba El-Khatib Badreddine freely translates her imagination onto canvas through a mix of paper, fabric, paint, and various materials, creating poetic and fairytale-like compositions that convey emotion and storytelling.

Hiba’s artistic practice extends beyond traditional surfaces. She also transforms everyday objects, including wood, trays, vases, and furniture such as chairs and tables, into artistic canvases. These functional pieces carry stories and presence, bringing warmth, color, and character to the spaces they inhabit.

Reflecting on the exhibition, Gaby Feranine, President and Founder of Rebirth Beirut, stated:

“‘As We Exist’ perfectly reflects the spirit of Rebirth Beirut, innovative, alive, and deeply human. This exhibition showed how art can move beyond static presentation and create meaningful connections between people, creativity, and place.”

The exhibition is with the support of Dr. Tony Karam and will continue until January 19th 2026 from 2pm to 7pm daily (closed on Sunday).

As part of Rebirth Beirut’s long-standing commitment to social impact, a portion of the proceeds was allocated to support the NGO’s projects dedicated to rehabilitating Beirut’s infrastructure and restoring public lighting, reinforcing the organization’s belief that culture can actively contribute to the city’s renewal.
