Lebanese Spotlight NGO organized the closing festival of the Beirut Beat project, celebrating the work and achievements of young participants who explored and documented the historical and cultural identity of six Beirut neighborhoods.
The festival featured interactive exhibition spaces showcasing the participants’ findings, a Beirut-inspired Monopoly game, traditional games, and a public Memory Jar where visitors could share their memories of the city. The program also included a documentary highlighting the project’s journey, followed by musical, cultural, and Lebanese Dabke performances by the NGO’s youth music group.
The event welcomed distinguished guests, including Mr. Mahmoud Al-Jamal representing Beirut Mayor Mr. Ibrahim Zaidan, Mr. Haitham Sayyad representing Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Abboud, MP Ibrahim Mneimneh, as well as representatives from Live Love Beirut, partner organizations, and the local community.
The festival concluded with certificates of completion for participants and certificates of appreciation for the volunteers and logistics team. Beirut Beat highlighted the important role of youth in documenting Beirut’s stories, heritage, and identity.
