MEA Chairman Mohamad El Hout Receives Prestigious Belgian Honor
By Royal Decree of His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium, MEA Chairman and Director General Mohamad El Hout has been awarded the rank of Commander of the Order of Leopold II, one of Belgium’s distinguished national honors.
The prestigious distinction was presented by H.E. Arnout Pauwels, Ambassador of Belgium to Lebanon, during a reception held at the Belgian Ambassador’s Residence on September 29, 2026.
In his remarks, El Hout dedicated the recognition to the entire MEA family, expressing his gratitude to the pilots, cabin crews, engineers, and ground staff who have stood alongside him throughout the past three decades, particularly during Lebanon’s most challenging years.
He emphasized that the honor is not his alone, but a recognition shared with the entire MEA team whose dedication and resilience have carried the airline through difficult times.
