Lebanese singer, author, and composer Ghassan Yammine recently presented a spectacular, sold-out concert paying tribute to Charles Aznavour at the prestigious Aram Katchaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan. This noteworthy event unfolded as part of the "New Armenia Generation" national project, following a special invitation from New Generation Production.
Accompanied by the National Pop Symphonic Orchestra, led by the esteemed Maestro Yervand Yerznkyan, Ghassan presented a captivating program featuring Aznavour's timeless hits, including "Hier encore," "Mourir d’aimer," "La bohème," "Désormais," "She," "Comme ils disent," "For me formidable," "Je m’voyais déjà," "La mamma," and many more.
Throughout his stay, Ghassan received significant media attention, participating in interviews across various platforms, including television news on multiple channels, radio appearances, and a press conference.
The Armenian audience, notorious for their discerning taste when it comes to Aznavour performances, warmly embraced Ghassan Yammine from the opening notes of "Hier encore." The applause and enthusiasm continued unabated throughout the concert.
As the grand finale approached, more than 1,200 spectators rose to their feet, offering a resounding 10-minute standing ovation, a fitting tribute to Ghassan Yammine's exceptional performance. In a gracious gesture, Ghassan promised the audience another memorable concert in Yerevan in 2024, coinciding with the centenary celebration of the great Charles Aznavour.
