The Beirut International Women's Film Festival concluded its seventh edition with an awards ceremony held at Grand Cinemas in ABC Mall in Dbayeh. The festival featured a grand opening ceremony honoring the renowned artist Yosra, followed by a five-day program showcasing a selection of distinguished films from over 35 countries, highlighting the pioneering role of women in cinema and addressing key women's issues, along with holding panel discussions. The closing ceremony was attended by the Tunisian Ambassador to Lebanon, Borawi Al-Imam, the founder and president of the Beirut Cinema Society, Sam Lahoud, members of the jury, and a crowd of cinema professionals and enthusiasts. The jury commended the festival for its excellent organization, global standards, large audience turnout, and the quality of the participating local, Arab, and international films. The festival, organized by the Beirut Cinema Society under the theme "Women for Leadership," was sponsored by the Minister of Information in the caretaker government, Ziad Baroud, in collaboration with Cedars Art Production Sabbah Brothers, and in partnership with Casino du Liban and Grand Cinemas. Sam Lahoud, the founder and president of the Beirut Cinema Society and the festival's director, delivered a speech highlighting the society's activities and future projects, thanking all participants and contributors for the success of this important cultural event. He emphasized the significance of supporting similar events, regardless of the organizing entity, as they contribute to our belief in fundamental issues and our efforts to keep them alive and relevant. The awards were then distributed according to categories, with recognition given to various films across different genres and countries.
