Invited by the Zakieh Nassif Music Program at the American University of Beirut, music producer and pianist Bassam Challita hosted a pioneering concert in collaboration with visual artist Philip Farhat as part of the annual festival of the Zakieh Nassif Music Program: "Let's Remember and Discover" in the Assembly Hall on the university campus. The event was attended by a crowd of cultural, artistic, and media figures, as well as music and art enthusiasts, and was presented by journalist May Ziadeh.
Titled "Piano in Harmony with Paintings," Challita translated Farhat's contemporary and surrealist paintings through improvised musical pieces that transported the audience to a fantasy world that echoes emotions and sensations.
The producer of the work, Bassam Challita, plans to bring this unique work to Europe and showcase it in museums, exhibitions, and cultural and artistic theaters for Western audiences to enjoy this innovative idea.
It is worth mentioning that Challita is currently preparing an exceptional show titled "Fantasy of a Pianist," which will be launched on June 15th at the "Casino du Liban" theater. The dreamy pianist will be accompanied by a music orchestra and a large number of guest singers, dancers, and musicians from Lebanon and around the world, including Mike Massy, Manal Mallat, Pauline, Jesse Jleilaty, Mazen Kiwan, Sahar Bou Khalil, Anya Aladdin, Carlos Piñana, Relu Balkan, as well as a group of technicians and performers. The entire proceeds of the "Fantasy of a Pianist" concert will go to charitable works managed by the parish of Mar Elias - Antelias
The show will integrate AI technology for the first time in a concert in lebanon.
