Glittering colours, awe-inspiring cuts and bold styles that impart an aristocratic character to pieces of art as chic as it comes. Maison Moe Shour introduces Once Upon A Dress Fall/Winter 2013-14 couture collection, presented to the glamorous and sophisticated woman.
Once Upon A Dress follows a series of collections that have been greeted with great éclat ever since Anglo-Lebanese designer Moe Shour returned to Beirut. Quality craftsmanship is embodied with an illustrious vision that evokes a timeless feel, aimed at the audacious yet stylish woman. The new collection draws on Organza that bestows an elegant volume on designs, in addition to soft fabrics such as tulle and lace that cuddle every curve of the body. The latter fabric is represented through two impressions; fine French lace and chic guipure, for an unparalleled aesthetic impression.
New fabrics, colours and materials were introduced, all translated into exquisite designs and cuts such as the Mermaid cut that highlights the body's contours and is perfect for slender figures, the Empire silhouette that gives a high-waisted appearance and the Ballerina which is a short dress with a Jupon. Boldness in design was evident through the use of intense and fiery colours like Blood Red and Blush, as well as timeless emerald green and black. The use of embroidery comes to add further lustre to the new collection.
The pièce de résistance of the whole collection is indisputably the asymmetrical, one-of-a-kind bridal gown in white and ivory hues. The guipure and French lace married up flawlessly, heightened by glitzy circular Swarovski Crystal beads and guipure flowers in relief.
With a prevailing feeling of optimism, up-and-coming designer Moe Shour presented his new collection in Beirut in spite of the disquieting political situation in the region. The photo-shoot took place at one of the Four Seasons Hotel lounges, where the collection's spirit blended harmoniously with the warm decor. Celebrity beauty expert Bassam Fattouh took care of the make-up, while top hairdressing chain Pace & Luce worked on providing gorgeous hairstyles, varying from wavy chic to chignon loose.
Known for his eloquent and colourful designs, Moe Shour is a self-confessed worshipper of quality. His brand is characterized by meticulous tailoring, detailing and an approach that is both conventional and modern, contemporary and understated.
