Cirque Du Soleil Back to Beirut With a Blast

    18 october 2013

A year has passed and Cirque du Soleil is back bringing with them a new show to surprise us all. The show "Dralion" was created in 1999 to pay tribute to the very old Chinese traditions in acrobatics. . The show will include a lot of Chinese circus elements mixed with western contemporary circus. And so "Dralion" is the meaning of the dragon representing the East and the lion representing the West

To create miracles on stage, it takes them real miracles at trainings. People, who are able to "fly", work on perfecting their skills everyday- on trampolines and specially designed simulators. Global circus, vagrant theater, and theatrical- acrobatic shows, which include ropewalking - perhaps, all this together makes the name of "Cirque du Soleil".

It is here absolutely normal, when at a high altitude, balancing on a rope; the performer is walking on his hands. The "Cirque du Soleil" has 11 bases worldwide where it performs constantly; this allows a troop of 1300 people to give shows at different parts of the world at the same time. The show "Dralion" includes 54 artists from 15 different countries, taking inspiration from Eastern philosophy and its never-ending quest for harmony between humans and nature.

Caftans and dresses resemble to those in style of the beginning of the last century. Each dress is individually worked on and created for the stage means of the hero. Besides that each detail is regarded importantly including buttons, sleeves and cuffs so that there wouldn't even be a hint of artificiality. The dress- is their primary and most important scenic image.

To the question are they athletes or actors; hardly anyone will be able to formulate an answer, for here everyone should be able to do all and to be simultaneously the clown, and the equilibrist, the musician, the dancer and the singer.

This is the synthesis of acrobatics and virtuosity. For purposes of safety though, more attention is given to the technique.

They know of no such thing as rehearsals, for they have to literally live each show on stage. The Cirque du Soleil does not have separate shows; it is a theater, a flying theater with plot of history and conflict.

The Cirque du Soleil in classical understanding is cirque chapiteau. As in the Middle Ages you would have stilt walkers, fire-eaters, jugglers, magicians, acrobats and Lilliput's who would travel and build their tents in the middle of European cities selling out all the tickets.

And so Cirque du Soleil is back and ready to amaze again. So run to by your tickets at Virgin megastores or get them directly before the show at the entrance of Forum de Beyrouth, and get ready to enjoy the show of a lifetime. Shows are given from October 10th-October 20. DON'T MISS OUT.

P.s- Don't forget to clap till your hands get red..these people deserve the applause J Enjoy the nights to come peeps.
