Canadian showjumper, Tiffany Foster, has had to withdraw from the Olympics because of of hypersensitivity in her horse's front leg, a decision team captain Eric Lamaze called "a complete miscarriage of justice".
In a press conference last night a sobbing Tiffany said: "I would never do anything to jeopardise the welfare of my horse, and what happened today was obviously very disappointing and devastating to me.”
Team captain Terrance Miller said his group was “very unhappy” with the decision because it lacked common sense.
"The horse has a little nick that any normal horse could have had by being out riding,” he said. “The cut could have happened on a rail or in the stall, or anything.
