    18 november 2013

On Sunday November 10, 2013, Samsung Electronics Levant and Cherfane Tawil & Co. (CTC) participated in the 10th annual Beirut Marathon, held by the Beirut Marathon Association (BMA). Eddy Cherfan, the Chief Executive Officer of CTC ran alongside a large team of Samsung and CTC members and many Lebanese participants, for the betterment of Lebanon.

Samsung participated in the marathon as a technology partner, as well as running for a cause.  The Samsung team ran on behalf of all the physically impaired who were unable to take part in this event.

"We are very happy to have participated in the Beirut Marathon 2013," said Eddy Cherfan. "We truly support the cause we ran for and are glad to have helped inspire unity among all Lebanese people," he added.

Samsung proudly encourages men and women athletes to do their best and get more involved in marathons and competitions. Elga Trad, a female athlete sponsored by Samsung, proudly took home the overall second place prize at the Beirut Marathon this year.  "I could not be more pleased with Elga," said Eddy Cherfan. "She sets the perfect example for women all over Lebanon to not only join but to also win the race."

Also, this year for the first time, Samsung gave away prizes to the winners including the physically impaired marathonians.  Within each of the five categories of the Beirut Marathon, there were three winners, therefore offering more than 15 gifts and prizes.

Samsung & CTC plan to continue participating in all future Beirut Marathons and hope to continue to raise awareness for different Lebanese groups and causes.
