The 2nd edition of the Classic Car Show 2013 witnessed a MINI moment as the 1975 MINI Austin and 2013 MINI Hatch model meet in Beirut Souks. The dynamic duo were displayed along with 90 classic cars until November 17th. The public show not only highlighted vehicles of the past but also depicted Lebanon's rich history via a selection of photographs showing families, officials and personalities that shaped the country in addition to traditional Lebanese artisan pieces reminding the public of the good old times.
Honouring cars from 1920 to 1975 and spilt into three distinct areas, 'Classic Car', 'Rally' and 'Remake', MINI had several moments at the show. Making an appearance in 'Remake' are the 1975 and 2013 edition MINIs, showcasing a brilliant display of the past and the present complementing one another. In the 'Rally' section visitors can see MINI champion models wearing old racing outfits and rally accessories of famous Lebanese drivers.
Commenting on MINI's participation in the Classic Car Show 2013, Nagy Heneine, General Manager for Commercial Affairs at Bassoul-Heneine sal said: "MINI was and is still known across the globe for celebrating culture, creativity and design. Lebanon has so many nice memories with this brand, from rally races to exhibitions, convoys, birthdays and celebrations, - MINI has done it all."
The president of FIVA International (Federation Internationale des Vehicules Anciens) Billy Karam also joined private collectors, car owners, enthusiasts as well as prominent political, business and social figures at the show celebrating the classic authenticity of the vehicles.
"We were pleased with the invitation we received from the event's team and are honoured to be part of this great show. The 1975 and 2013 participating MINI models illustrated MINI's successful and rapid change across the generations, however, time has never changed its fun and exciting character," Nagy added.
The Classic Car Show 2013 ran from October 30th to November 17th.
