Tom Cruise has visited Japan more than almost any Hollywood star, and they reciprocated by designating October 10th "Tom Cruise Day."
9. Aladdin Was Modeled After Him
Originally, Disney artists based the face of Aladdin on Michael J. Fox, but producers decided Cruise was a more female-appealing model so he was redesigned.
8. He Feuded with His First Co-Star
Cruise's movie debut was in 1981's Endless Love opposite Brooke Shields. The pair would publicly argue more than two decades later about Scientology and psychiatric drugs.

Cruise's breakthrough role in Risky Business cemented him as a star, but a side benefit was Ray-Ban sunglasses, like the kind he wore in the flick, enjoyed a sales spike of 2000%.

Most actors in Hollywood say they want to direct, but Cruise has never helmed a film. His only directorial outing was a segment of 1993 noir TV show Fallen Angels.

Wanting to look gritty for his role as Steve in The Outsiders, Cruise had one of the caps on his teeth removed for the scenes after the rumble between the Greasers and the Socs.
