This Christmas was a starlit celebration that enriched the lives of less fortunate children. Zaitunay Bay was bright with a message of peace, love and hope from the 18th of November right up to the 8th of January. Matisse Events and Zaitunay Bay joined together to spark a positive change. They saw that a large portion of Lebanon's children needed a helping hand and decided to do something about it while engaging the community. This is how the "Field of Stars" was born, an initiative which marks a return to the true roots of this important holiday.
Created and organized by Matisse Events, the "Field of Stars" brought a mesmerizing field of illuminated stars to Zaitunay Bay. Each star was purchased for $1,000 by companies, anonymous contributors and groups of people who came together for this cause. All the funds collected were divided equally between 24 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and charities that are dedicated to helping children. Once the donations were received, the contributors were sincerely thanked and the NGOs expressed their genuine gratitude for the life-changing donations.
This is the first time such an initiative has taken place in Lebanon. Due to its success, the "Field of Stars" will be back next year to warm hearts by donating the money collected to these 24 NGOs that make a real difference. The "Field of Stars" is here to stay in a bid to improve the lives of those who are in need. Just as the Wise Men followed a star on Christmas Eve, the "Field of Stars" will continue to help Lebanon move towards a brighter, more caring future.
