The latest innovations and initiatives helping to promote positive environmental impact will compete in the second season of the Green Mind Award. Launched in Morocco today, the popular series will be touring the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) as it sets out to find the potential winners of 2014.
The awards is organized by Green Mind NGO, in partnership with e-EcoSolutions Environmental Consultancy and supported by Strategic Sponsor, averda, the international waste management and environmental solutions provider. The series seeks to promote and recognise the leading green achievements of companies, both private and the public sector, organizations, teams and individuals.
"We are eager to exchange our knowledge and experiences with our neighbouring countries and import best practice and understandings back into Lebanon" said Nada Zaarour, president of Green Mind NGO. "We hope to see the creativity of Morocco shine at this year's awards and highlight the hard work and commitment to creating a greener, more sustainable future for the country."
Entries can be submitted into 10 categories: the Green Education Award, the Green Media Award, the Green Industry Award, the Green Individual Award, the Green Community Award, the Green Innovation Award, the Green NGO Award, the Green CSR Award, the Green Hospitality Award and the Green Woman of the Earth Award.
Applications are assessed by an international panel of experts, with the winners announced on April 22, to coincide with International Earth Day. The ceremony will be attended by a number of well-known industry figures, including Carlos Ghosn and Ralph Nader; as well as the return of the famous Green Carpet.
"This award is a synergy of Green meets Glamour." added Gilbert Tegho, CEO, e-EcoSolutions, "The theme for 2014 is Go Green & Go Famous and we really want to make stars out of those working hard to develop worthwhile projects that help us save our Earth.
