    Portal 9 launches its 3rd issue titled:Fiction: Contemporary Arabic and Russian Pursuits

    The cultural bilingual journal Portal9, celebrates the launch of its third issue: ''Fiction: Contemporary Arabic and Russian Pursuits''. The 3rd issue features a novella by Lebanese author Hassan Daoud "As She Once Was", and short stories by Russian writers Irina Bogatyreva, Arslan Khasavov, and Egyptian author Mansoura Ez-Eldin in addition to a photo-roman by Palestinian artist Yazan Khalili.

    The launching event will be held this Saturday 8th of February at 6:30 PM in "Dawanine" Gemmayze, where author Daoud will read passages from his novella "Naqqil Fouadaka", commissioned by Portal9 for Fiction, while Lina Mounzer will share excerpts from the English translation.

    The reading will be followed at 8:30pm by a screening of  'Palms" by Artour Aristakisyan. The film dates back to the period between 1990 and 1994 and is shot in the Ex-USSR Moldavian Capital, Kishinev, where Aristakisyan chases homeless people and beggars and captures their faces and bodies.
